A privileged group of invitees to the unveiling of the newly renovated CHANEL boutique in Bal Harbour Shops had the perfect excuse to take out their 2.55 iconic handbags. Since they were the first to witness the work of famous architect Peter Marino, we understand, it called for it. It’s been almost 20 years since the house set foot in the prestigious South Florida mall, and as a sign that is going nowhere, comes the magnificent makeover that takes the classic black and white concept to a new level. Coco’s Paris apartment was evoked in general but can be seen in an area at the back where there’s a buck sculpture covered in Swarovski crystals (although the original is made of wood), a big mirror, a faux fireplace with white crystals, a crystal ball on the coffee table (mademoiselle Chanel was very superstitious). The biggest news? For the first time fine jewelry is now available at this store. Brilliant!
