Louis Vuitton’s temporary store at the Design District (170 NE 40th Street) unveiled its Objets Nomades collection just in time for Art Basel Miami Beach. These travel inspired pieces are the result of collaborations with distinguished designers and studios. Humberto and Fernando Campana created the Maracatu limited-edition hanging travel cabinet, which is made of leather strips (the same type used for LV handbags); Patricia Urquiola designed a stool that unfolds as a handbag; Maarten Baas did a Beach Chair surprisingly lightweight when folded that gives you the option to detach its compartment and carry it as a backpack. Custom-made travel furniture and decor pieces are no news to the legendary brand but, these can be resumed in one word: functional. The best part? Most of the collection is here in Miami until December 9th. From there it will travel on its own.
